Everyday we have gone to visit with Ella has been wonderful: we play, we chat, we practice our English and we snack. Her behavior is typical and she doesn't stick with doing one thing for a long periods of time. First she will color and the she will play with her dolls and then she will want to play 1,2,3...and then she remembers we have a snack and juice. Mostly we bring her crackers or a banana and she will hold her juice in her hand until it is finished to the LAST drop. We learned quickly the banana and crackers must be rationed or she will put as much as she can into her mouth at once. Again, she consumes it quickly and at no time does she relinquish any portion of the food or drink to us once it has been handed to her. I am convinced she would eat the peeling of the banana if we would let her.
Today, she amazed us. It was as if the light went on...this Papa and Mama keep coming back; they keep playing with me; they keep giving me hugs and kisses and love. Today, she actually offered and SHARED her juice and apple with us; she even let us hold it while she colored or drank her juice. I know this may not seem like much; but for her and us it was a BIG step - she is beginning to trust us. Another trusting step and indication she is feeling secure... she laid in Jim's arms and allowed him to cuddle her and as I sat facing them and stroked her hair as she just looked so at peace.

You don't know me and I do not know you, but we had friends adopt from the Ukraine recently. I find it interesting following blogs of people who continue to do wonderful things for these children. The video above of her calling PaPa and him come running and her opening her arms gave me goose bumps. Enjoy your little Ella we will continue to pray for you.
Glad you had another good day...

OMG that video is just so precious. I watched it several times. Have Jim take some video of you and Ella. Dee
Thank you for the video! There is nothing more precious than seeing her hold up her arms for Papa to pick her up. What an amazing gift your family is to this little girl...and her to you as well.
Tears in my eyes!!!
:)
I LOVED today's video, it made me cry. She seems so happy, excited and comfortable with you guys. I am so happy for you!! I am also amazed at how much everything looks like Kazakhstan (except for the beautiful trees). You guys are doing so great and look so happy yourselves. Can't wait to see how much more she blooms when she comes home with you.
Little Ella seems to truly know that her Mama and Papa have found her and that bond appears to be growing stronger each day.
What a gift for her and for your family!
Thanks for sharing all the photos. It's such fun to see them and to recall our own journey last winter.
What great pics, video and encouraging steps! Enjoy each miracle day! God Bless!
She is a precious little girl! Best of luck getting home.
Jim and Lisa, I continue to be amazed by the tenderness in these pictures. I am eager every day to get on line just to see what you all have posted each day with Ella. I have lots of friends looking at your site as well. We all will continue to pray for your safe home coming. What a blessing that Ella will bring into your lives. I know the boys are eager to get you all home so they can start being the big brother. She sure is a little doll. Sue
